Share in the joy of chatting and come along to a Chat Around Bayside event!
Between 3 May and 9 June, Chatty Café will be on tour – hosting events at some stellar Bayside venues! This is a great opportunity to chat with locals, meet new friends and discover new places to connect.
“Many people in our community are still recovering from the impacts of extended lockdowns – and these events are a relaxed and supported way for us to reconnect,” said Glenys Reid, Managing Director of Chatty Café and Bayside’s Citizen of the Year.
These are free events, but you are welcome to purchase food or drinks to support our local venues. There is no need to book (unless you’re staying for a meal at the restaurants eg La Cabra Mexican in the evening ) – just come along!
Our Chatty volunteers – expert icebreakers, listeners and, of course, chatters, will be facilitating each event, to encourage everyone to get involved and meet new people.

Chat Around Bayside is proudly supported by Bayside City Council in collaboration with Chatty Café Scheme Australia and with funding from the Victorian Government’s Inner South East Metropolitan Partnerships.
Each week local cafés, libraries and community centres across Bayside host Chatty Café events, where community members can sit at their “Have a Chat” tables if they are happy to chat with others.
