Chatty Champions pilot to spark conversations and build connections

We’re partnering with the Belgravia Foundation and Belgravia Leisure to launch the Chatty Champions pilot in 11 leisure centres across Australia in August.

The four-week pilot invites leisure centre visitors to take part in simple, meaningful moments of connection by displaying a ‘Join me for a chat’ sign at café tables in the centres.

Whether after a swim, gym session or a class, participants can choose to take a small, brave step to help build a more connected, caring community. Whether you’re young or older, outgoing or quiet – anyone can be a Chatty Champion.

By putting a ‘Join Me for a Chat’ sign on your table, you’re letting others know they’re welcome to sit down and share a conversation.

The program encourages spontaneous conversations, friendly encounters, and even the start of new friendships—one chat at a time.

How Does It Work?

  • After your gym session, swim, or class, stop by the café.
  • Pick up a ‘Join Me for a Chat’ sign from the counter.
  • Put it on your table to show you’re open for a chat.
  • Enjoy your coffee, your meal, and see who stops by.
  • When you’re done, pop the sign back for someone else to use.
