Born under the light of the southern cross in the backstreets of Mornington’s industrial estate, Commonfolk has been living the dream since twenty thirteen.
There’s something in the salty sea breeze blowing in off Port Phillip Bay that just makes the coffee taste better. We might not be the most orthodox bunch but we’re as good at turning green coffee brown as Paul Kelly is at making gravy.
Commonfolk’s not just great coffee. Our Mornington kitchen, led by head chef Sam Borley, is pumping out incredible food that’ll have you coming back time and time again.
Our menu features the freshest and best produce the Ninch has to offer. We love to work with like minded folk using organic farming techniques, regenerative agriculture, and endemic or heirloom produce.
We’re hunter gatherers at heart, what we can’t forage we grow, and what we can’t grow we source locally.
Along with our own courtyard kitchen garden, we’re lucky enough to have a small farm in Balnarring that’s run by Sam’s [Commonfolk Founder] Grandpa Stan, and whatever he can’t grow we try and source from local farmers and suppliers.
Keen to get involved? We can repurpose your leftover backyard fruit and vegetables in exchange for coffee.
